Through the (hotel) booking site (called expedia.com.au), I have recently booked the “cheap” accommodation (Stockholm Classic Budget Hotell, November 3-9, 6 nights), and paid the full fee (around A$600, A$100/night) in advance by my visa card Yesterday, but very strangely I haven’t received from Expedia (or the hotel owner in Sweden) any “confirmation” of my reservation to my e-mail address. So I sent my complaint to expedia@au.expediamail.com, but I received no reply or explanation from “Expedia” so far…
Well, if I remember correctly, several years ago, when I booked a hotel in outskirts of Melbourne for one or two nights through this site, a similar thing happened, and I had to pay the fee again to the hotel owner for our stay.
So this time I checked by internet site in order to check if “Expedia” is fake or scam. All complaints there strongly suggest that Expedia is indeed a “Scam” or “Thief” that we should not trust at all. Thus, I have to inform AFP (Australian Federal Police) that the fake "Expedia" site should be banned immediately.
The main reason why I tried to book a hotel accommodation in Stockholm is: I was recently invited by Karolinsca Institute (KI) in Stockholm for a special seminar (on November 4th, Friday afternoon) entitled “Chemical Evolution for Taming the “Pathogenic/Aging” Kinase (PAK1)”, and also scheduled to meet a local biotech or pharmaceutical company for discussing the possibility of our potent PAK1-blocker “15K” being under clinical trials. Unfortunately KI has no guest house, and I had to book a local hotel by myself.
In conclusion, I have booked another cheap hotel (Stockholm Hostel) in Stockholm through “Booking.com” site, which is truly reliable ( I got both “confirmation” and receipt immediately!).
